Coming to Las Vegas for Pittsburgh vs. Vegas? The Golden Knights host the Penguins at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 7:00 PM PT. Here’s how to turn the game into a full Vegas night without wasting time figuring things out after you arrive.
GAME AT A GLANCE
Pittsburgh Penguins at Vegas Golden Knights
Saturday, October 17, 2026 · 7:00 PM PT
T-Mobile Arena · 3780 S Las Vegas Blvd
The smart game-day plan
This is one of the easiest major sports venues to build a Vegas night around. T-Mobile Arena sits beside Park MGM and New York-New York, with ARIA and Excalibur also within walking distance. Our recommendation: make the arena district your base for the afternoon, eat before the crowd peaks, then stay in the same part of the Strip after the final horn.
- Afternoon: check in or spend the afternoon around the south/central Strip.
- Pregame: eat before entering the arena and give yourself extra time for the game-day crowd and enhanced VGK security.
- 7:00 PM: puck drop.
- After the game: walk into Park MGM, New York-New York or farther up the Strip instead of immediately fighting rideshare demand.
Tickets: start with the official source
For this guide, we recommend checking the Golden Knights’ official single-game ticket page first. WassupVegas will only add a monetized ticket button when partner attribution is verified; we won’t disguise a normal ticket link as an affiliate offer.
Where to stay for the game
If hockey is the anchor of your trip, staying within walking distance is hard to beat. Park MGM and New York-New York are the most obvious convenience plays, while ARIA puts you close to the arena with a more upscale resort experience. Excalibur can make sense when price matters more than luxury.
COMPARE LAS VEGAS AREAS & HOTELS →
Getting to T-Mobile Arena
T-Mobile Arena recommends making a plan early. For Golden Knights games, official options include prepaid parking, rideshare, RTC’s VGK Express, the Las Vegas Monorail and walking from nearby resorts. Rideshare drop-off is at the ground level of the New York-New York parking garage; postgame pickup is at nearby casino properties such as New York-New York or Park MGM.
Driving? Reserved event parking is prepaid and availability/prices can change. Don’t assume you can simply buy the same reserved option at the garage on game night.
CHECK OFFICIAL PARKING & TRANSPORT →
Know the bag rule before you leave the hotel
T-Mobile Arena currently permits only small personal bags up to 9 × 5 × 2 inches. They do not have to be transparent. Fanny packs, crossbody bags and clear stadium bags are allowed only when they stay within that size. The arena says policies can change by event, so recheck before leaving.
If your bag is too large, Binbox lockers on Toshiba Plaza start at $20 per checked bag, according to the arena. T-Mobile Arena also has a no-re-entry policy.
VERIFY THE CURRENT BAG POLICY →
Where to eat before the game
The biggest mistake is crossing half the Strip for dinner when you already have an arena deadline. Keep pregame food near the arena district. Park MGM, New York-New York and the surrounding Strip give you enough choices to match the group rather than forcing everyone into one “must-visit” restaurant.

What to do after the final horn
A Saturday night game does not have to end when you leave T-Mobile Arena. The better move for most visitors is to stay nearby for a while, especially if rideshare demand is heavy. Choose the next stop based on your energy: drinks and people-watching, a late dinner, a show, or a bigger Vegas night.
STAYING FOR THE WEEKEND?
Don’t make the hockey game your only plan. Build the rest of the trip around the parts of Vegas you actually care about.

What we’d avoid
- Driving toward the arena without checking parking first.
- Bringing a normal backpack and assuming it will be allowed.
- Planning a long pregame meal far from T-Mobile Arena.
- Ordering a rideshare the second thousands of fans leave the building if you are happy to stay nearby.
- Buying from an unfamiliar ticket source without checking the seller and terms.
Quick checklist
- Mobile tickets ready before reaching the gate
- Bag within the current 9 × 5 × 2-inch arena limit
- Parking or transportation plan decided
- Pregame meal chosen near the arena
- Postgame plan flexible
- Recheck official event details before traveling
