NHRA Las Vegas Nationals 2026: Best Day to Go, Halloween Pits, Parking & Tickets
Plan the Oct. 30–Nov. 1, 2026 NHRA Las Vegas Nationals: Thursday vs. ticketed weekend, Friday qualifying, Saturday Halloween pits, Sunday finals, free parking, kids' tickets and bag rules.
WASSUPVEGAS · MOTORSPORTS GAME-DAY GUIDE · VERIFIED OCTOBER 27, 2026 (LAS VEGAS TIME)
Four days appear on the NHRA’s official Las Vegas event calendar, but the ticketed public race weekend promoted by Las Vegas Motor Speedway is Friday, October 30, through Sunday, November 1, 2026. Thursday, October 29 has Sportsman qualifying and eliminations on the competition schedule; don’t assume a Friday–Sunday ticket covers Thursday. That distinction matters if you’re booking flights, bringing kids or choosing just one day at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The Mopar NHRA Las Vegas Nationals powered by Dodge is the penultimate round of the NHRA’s 2026 championship season. The weekend features Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle racing, plus Saturday’s Halloween activities in the pits. This guide focuses on the decisions that can make or break a visit: which day to attend, where to park, what to bring and how tickets work.
At a glance: dates, location and official sources
- Public ticketed weekend: Friday, Oct. 30–Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026; gates open 7:30 a.m. Pacific each day.
- Thursday, Oct. 29: Sportsman competition begins at 8 a.m.; verify separate access with the venue before planning to attend.
- Venue: The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 7000 N Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89115. This is not the Las Vegas Strip hotel corridor.
- Tickets: Buy through LVMS’s official ticket page; check the live track schedule immediately before travel.
- Parking: Free general parking, including the public Blue Lot; premium and designated lots can require passes.
Which day should you choose?
| Day | Key moments (Pacific) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Fri, Oct. 30 | Gates 7:30 a.m.; Nitro qualifying around 1:45 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. | Seeing qualifying and exploring the pits without waiting for Sunday’s finals |
| Sat, Oct. 31 | Gates 7:30 a.m.; Nitro qualifying noon and 2:30 p.m.; pit trick-or-treating 1–2:30 p.m. | Families and Halloween visitors who want racing plus pit activities |
| Sun, Nov. 1 | Gates 7:30 a.m.; Nitro eliminations start 11 a.m.; scheduled Nitro finals 4:40 p.m. | Championship-pressure eliminations and the planned final rounds |
All times are Las Vegas local time. Important: clocks fall back one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026. Friday and Saturday are on PDT; Sunday is on PST. This is a planning snapshot from the venue’s published schedule, not a guarantee of exact run times. Weather, track conditions and race operations can change the program. Recheck the official timetable before leaving.
Saturday’s Halloween pit experience
The speedway advertises trick-or-treating in the pits on Saturday, October 31, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., with participating race teams. The same day includes Nitro qualifying, so parents should plan a route between pit activities and their seats rather than expect to watch everything simultaneously. Costumes are encouraged by the organizer; check the venue’s prohibited-items rules before bringing accessories.
LVMS also advertises a free Kids Club for ages 12 and under, located in the midway. Drag racing is extremely loud: bring properly fitted hearing protection for children and adults, stay hydrated and allow time to get between the grandstands and pits.
Tickets: the details families can easily miss
LVMS offers single-day and three-day weekend tickets. Every race ticket includes pit access according to the organizer, so don’t pay for an extra pit pass without first checking your ticket’s inclusions. Reserved, General Admission and premium experiences are not interchangeable; choose the section that fits your budget and group.
For General Admission, the speedway advertises up to four free tickets for children ages 12 and under per paid adult. The free child credentials must be obtained at the LVMS ticket office with an adult General Admission purchase; do not assume children can enter without their own ticket. Reserved sections have different junior pricing. Confirm current availability, pricing and restrictions with the official ticket seller or 800-644-4444. No live ticket inventory or price is claimed here.
Admission is primarily digital through the LVMS mobile app. Download your ticket before arriving, sign in to the correct account and keep your device charged. Some upgrades use separate physical credentials; review the venue’s fan-information page.

Getting to The Strip at LVMS
Driving: LVMS says public parking is free, with the Blue Lot identified for NHRA visitors. Follow its event-specific parking directions rather than navigating to the main superspeedway grandstands by mistake. Some administrative, premium and camping lots require passes. Leave a traffic buffer, particularly on Sunday.
Rideshare or taxi: The designated pickup and drop-off area is on Speedway Boulevard, across from The Strip pits. Arrange the return ride with that location in mind. The organizer does not promise a free shuttle from Strip hotels, so do not plan around one without confirmation.
Accessibility: LVMS offers accessible parking and services; contact its ticket office at 800-644-4444 about your specific needs before arrival. See the official parking and ADA information.
What you can bring—and what to leave behind
- Bags: Maximum two per person, each no larger than 18 × 18 × 14 inches. Clear bags are recommended for faster screening but are not required; all bags are inspected.
- Food and drink: One food item and one non-alcoholic beverage (maximum 64 ounces in an allowed container) per guest. No coolers in the grandstand/terrace seating areas, no outside alcohol and no glass containers.
- Payments: LVMS says on-site transactions are cashless and there are no ATMs; bring a working card or supported payment method.
- Comfort: Bring hearing protection, sun protection, layers for changing desert temperatures and a charged phone. Do not treat these suggestions as venue admission requirements.
See the full LVMS fan guide and prohibited-items list. The organizer’s general rain FAQ discusses NASCAR-specific guarantees, not a confirmed NHRA refund entitlement; verify the NHRA event’s actual ticket terms if weather affects your plans.
Build a Las Vegas weekend around the race
This is an out-of-Strip motorsport trip, not an arena event you can walk to from a central hotel. If you’re visiting for Halloween weekend, compare the race dates with the WassupVegas Events Calendar and Sports Calendar. The Trip Planner can help you keep a separate travel block for LVMS; check Today in Las Vegas for other plans.
Automotive fans staying into the following week should read our separate SEMA, AAPEX and SEMA Fest visitor guide. Those convention and concert tickets do not include NHRA race admission. For more planning ideas, browse Vegas Guides.
