If irrigation is flooding toward the house, street, electrical equipment or a neighboring property, use the irrigation shutoff/controller only if you know how and can reach it safely. Do not dig around unknown utility lines.
What are you seeing?
A single clogged, broken or misdirected sprinkler head or drip emitter usually points to a localized irrigation repair.
A zone that will not start, will not stop, or has very low pressure can involve a valve, solenoid, controller or irrigation line.
Persistent wet gravel, runoff or unexplained irrigation use can indicate a hidden line, valve or emitter leak.
If indoor fixtures are also affected, this may extend beyond irrigation. A plumber may be the better starting point.
Choose by scope, not by label.
- Irrigation repair: sprinklers, drip lines, emitters, irrigation valves, zones, timers and controllers.
- Plumber: household supply, main-line or pressure problems that also affect indoor plumbing.
- Landscaper: redesign, plant replacement, grading or larger landscape changes beyond repairing the watering system.
- Ask what the diagnostic/service-call fee covers before approving work.
