in the last weekThis place was such a vibe. I had the pleasure of visiting in October during my friend’s wedding weekend. It’s very dimly lit but the inside is very dreamy and sultry. Our group ordered a few sushi rolls, a round of drinks and a few entrees to share. The Thai duck fried rice was one of the most exquisite meals I’ve ever tasted. I’m still thinking about it. Our waiter was great and we all had a good time. To put the cherry on top, we were able to end our night at their nightclub. Open bar was offered for an hour making it the perfect pre-wedding evening.

in the last weekThis was my first visit to TAO, and I went with my work team during a very busy conference week in Vegas. I called at 5:45 PM hoping for a same-night reservation and was told they could take us at 6:30 PM. They took my name, and that was that. I was thrilled—and honestly surprised—to get such a good slot. But when we arrived, they couldn’t find the reservation. They asked for a confirmation number… which I never received. The next available table wasn’t until 9 PM. They did offer to seat us in the bar area and let us order from the full menu, so we took that option. And this is where the night turned around. Our waitress listened to what happened and absolutely took care of us. We had plenty of space, and the service was exceptional. Throughout the night, dishes kept coming, drinks kept flowing, and everything we ordered was genuinely delicious. We finished by sharing carrot cake—except they brought us two. (See photos.) “Is it cake?” Yes. And it’s fantastic. So why 4 stars instead of 5? When I got back to my hotel, I saw an email sent to my personal address asking me to confirm the reservation. If I didn’t confirm, it would be canceled. Since I had only given my name on the phone, I’m guessing they matched my email through caller ID. The person who took the reservation should have told me to expect an email and that confirmation was required. That said, the TAO team made it right, and we ended up having a great night. I’d go back.
